The ability to tap this universe's infinite store of ambient magical energy and manipulate these to a variety of effects. A skill derived from three major sources: personal powers of the mind/soul/body, powers gained by tapping the universe's ambient magical energy and employing it for specific effects and finally, powers gained through the tapping of extra-dimensional energy by invoking entities or objects of power existing in mystical dimensions tangential to his own. The latter means of power is usually gained by the recitation of incantations.

Rintrah is a moderately powerful magician. He has the potential to someday become as powerful as Doctor Strange and Enitharmon the Weaver.

Some of these effects include forming magical energy bolts with a high degree of potency and control. Erect energy shields or screens with a high degree of imperviousness to both physical and magical damage.

The art of astral projection, the mental ability to separate the astral self-the sheath of the soul, or life essence-from his physical self, and in this form traverse through space unbounded by physical laws but fully retaining human consciousness. The astral form is invisible, intangible, and incapable of being harmed except by the most rigorous of mystical means. The astral form only possesses those magical powers residing in the sorcerer's mind: thought casting, psychokinesis, etc. He has just enough mastery that he can remain in astral form for up to 24 hours before there is corporeal deterioration of his physical form. The physical form is quite vulnerable to attack when the astral form is absent. If harm were to befall the physical form while in astral form, the astral form would be stranded in the wraith-like state. While the astral form is absent, the physical form remains in an inert death-like trance.

Thoughtcasting over short distances in a manner virtually identical with telepathy. Providing he knew where to contact the specific mind he is seeking. The range depends on Rintrah's skill, which is not that high yet... He should be able to simultaneously communicate with about a dozen minds at a time.

Utilizing local magical energy to teleport across the face of the Earth or into a mystical dimension (certain higher dimensions beyond height, width, depth, etc. where the physical laws can be based on magic rather than science). Oddly enough, teleportation within a dimension is more taxing than teleportation between dimensions. Such expenditure of energy leaves all sorcerers mystically debilitated for a varying length of time, making teleportation a dangerous and seldom used ability. Physical teleportation across time rather than space is the most power-draining feat of them all.

Rintrah has knowledge spells and incantations invoking the names and aspects of various extra-dimensional objects and beings of power. Through these incantations the mage is able to call upon these extra-dimensional power sources for very specific effects without taxing the personal abilities. His full repertoire of remains unknown.

In the past Rintrah has been known to use the following manipulations, aside from the one mentioned above... he is capable of opening dimensional gateways, levitating, creating life-like illusions and mesmerizing others.

Abilities: Rintrah uses moderate hand-to-hand combat only, he relies on his strength rather than skill.

Paraphernalia: Rintrah received from Doctor Strange his old The Amulet of Agamotto and the (purple) Cloak of Levitation.

History: Rintrah's magical potential somehow bought him to the attention of Enitharmon the Weaver, an other- dimensional sorcerer. Enitharmon took Rintrah in and began training him as an apprentice.

Rintrah first encountered Earth's Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange when Strange asked Enitharmon to repair his Cloak of Levitation, which had been torn in a battle. After he repaired the Cloak, Enitharmon told Rintrah to return the Cloak to Strange.

Rintrah found Strange just after the sorcerer's physical body had been badly wounded in a battle with a demon sent by Urthona, an alien mystic from Strange's own dimension. Mortally injured, Strange had been forced to release his astral form and take possession of the bodies of two of his friends, Morgana Blessing and Sara Wolfe. While in these two other forms, Strange was just able to beat Urthona's demon. During the battle, Urthona transported Strange's house, and everything inside it, to his home planet.

Rintrah's shared body then took Strange's healing body and borrowed a spaceship from Reed Richards. They traveled to Urthona's home planet and confronted the alien wizard.

During the battle, it appeared as if Strange had destroyed his magical books and mystical talismans. In actuality, the books and talismans were saved by the magical entity Agamotto, one of the Vishanti. Agamotto later returned the unharmed items to Doctor Strange.

Strange and Rintrah were able to beat Urthona, and free his captives, Wong and Topaz. They then returned to Earth. Rintrah remained with Doctor Strange and accompanied him on several adventures.

Rintrah was a staunch supporter of Strange's during the troubling times that followed. As Earth was invaded by a number of evil entities from beyond, Doctor Strange was forced to turn to black magic to help defeat them. During this time, Strange allied himself with the black magician Kaluu.

After defeating the dark forces, Strange attained godhood and slowly became detached from humanity. Kaluu, Enitharmon, and Rintrah were able to return Strange to his old self. Rintrah then returned with Enitharmon to his dimension.

Eventually, Rintrah returned to Earth and asked Strange to accept him as an apprentice. Strange agreed and Rintrah lived with Strange in his home in Greenwich Village.

More recently, Rintrah helped Doctor Strange search for a cure for Topaz, one of Doctor Strange's other allies who had been possessed by an ancient demon of Sumer. The spell required to banish the demon requires a number of unique ingredients. One such ingredient was the flame from a demon's head. The search for the demonic fire led Strange and Rintrah to the newest version of the Ghost Rider. They then battled the mysterious villain known as Zodiak, who was apparently backed by mystical masters from another dimension. During the battle, the heroes were able to drive back Zodiak, plus gain a piece of flame from a demon from Zodiak's home dimension.

During the battle, Rintrah disguised himself to look like Topaz, and he made Topaz look like him. Rintrah chivalrously insisted on doing this, hoping to protect Topaz. Rintrah subsequently took a mortal blow intended for Topaz from the mad Zodiak. Doctor Strange and Topaz returned to Strange's home with the wounded Rintrah, where Strange promptly used a spell to remove any taint of black magic from Rintrah's grievous wound. Strange then used his earthly medical abilities to operate on the wounded Rintrah. Luckily Rintrah recovered, but he remained weak from his recent brush with death.

Later Rintrah impersonated Doctor Strange to oppose the Enchantress, and he would receive the first amulet and eye of Agamotto with the former Purple Cloak of Levitation. But still he was not able to control magic as good a he would like, so he accidentally used his magic to turn garbage into monster.

During a battle together with Doctor Strange they encountered a dangerous magical artifact. Rintrah sought to destroy it with his bare hands, but forgot that it could be magically boobytrapped. The artifact released a high amound of energy on impact that drained all the life-force from Rintrah. At this time Rintrah seemed dead. Strange placed his body in a suspended state and left him in a seperate dimension, hoping to learn a way to revive his apprantice.
